This area has retained over the centuries the traces of different influences: Roman amphitheatre, Greek villages, medieval castles and baroque churches. Starting in the baroque city of Lecce, also known as the Florence of the South, leisurely bike through the olive groves on small country roads. Then cycle along the coast, which offers a beautiful coastline, a sometimes azure sometimes sapphire blue sea and old fortified ports.

    Arrival in Lecce

After transfer from the aiport, ride through the baroque city of Lecce, capital of the province of Salento. Then admire the Basilica of Santa Croce, which impresses with its profusion of carved decorations. We advise you to take an ice cream in the evening on the piazza S. Oronzo for its bustling atmosphere

You continue through the countryside to Galatone, discover the church of Santuario della Pieta Crucifix and the remnants of its castle. You keep on riding to the coast of the Ionian Sea and reach Gallipoli. Old fishing port surrounded by a fortress, the city spans tradition and modernity, between its remarkably preserved historic center and its lively party spots.

    Group trip to Puglia

On the 2022-10-07 by Julia, Geneva
A great trip for our group of 13. It was a pleasure to deal with the Vélo Voyageur team before the trip, and the trip itself was fantastic. The GPS was accurate and took us on a lovely route, mostly car-free and including the highlights of each place we went through. Olive groves, local towns and coastal views. The hotels were great; well located and with good facilities. The bikes were all of a good quality, and many were new. The logistics of bags and bikes all worked well. Looking forward to our next trip with Vélo Voyageur.

    Belle découverte

    On the 2019-05-26 by Renaude

    On the 2015-10-18 by Nicolas
