8 days cycling between Dubrovnik and the islands

On this tour, you will visit Dubrovnik but also some dalmatian islands and croatian countryside around Dubrovnik by bike.

  • Croatia is the country of 1000 islands, rich history, mediterranean vegetation and mild climate. This tour starts in the beautiful Dubrovnik countryside area of Konavle and on Korcula islands . You will start the tour on Korcula island where you spend 2 days then continue travelling down to Island Mljet. After exploring Mljet you go to Dubrovnik and Island Sipan.

    Day 1


    Arrival in Dubrovnik and transfer to Konavle

    You arrive in Dubrovnik airport. A transfer will be organised for you to Konavle. You pick up the bikes and you ccan start visiting the countryside of the area.

    Day 2


    Konavle loop

    This day you will spend cycling in farming area of Dubrovnik, cycling route follows the valley and river Ljuta, villages of Zvekovica(with eventually visit town Cavtat) and group of the villages in Gornja Banda.


    Konavle over Peljesac peninsula and Korcula

    On day 3rd we organise a shuttle from Konavle to Peljesac peninsula and Korcula island. All those who like longer bike rides can cycle Peljesac peninsula bike route (up to 50 km), this route is very scenic but with some demanding parts. If you don’t want to cycle along the peninsulathen it is possible to shuttle to Korcula and ride a shorter route on the island.

    Day 4


    Korcula loop ride

    For the second day on Korcula we suggest a circular ride from the village Lumbarda to Korcula town. In the old town you can visit the Cathedral, the house of Marco Polo,...after the town sightseeing you will bike along the coastal road until the picturesque bay of Racisce. Night in Lombarda.

    Day 5


    Korcula to Mljet national park

    You take a ferry from Korcula to Mljet (30 mn). You will visit this wonderful and protected island. It is famous for its 2 salt lakes and for its historical monuments. Your cycle ride starts in Polace (famous for its ruined Roman Palace) and continues to the salt lakes, villages , vineyards and pine forest of this island. You sleep in Mljet island. Night in Mljet.

    Day 6


    Island Mljet-Dubrovnik

    Today go from Mljet to Dubrovnik, taking a ferry (or combine with car shuttle, transfer from the island depends of the available ferries and season). Upon arrival in Dubrovnik you will be taken to your accommodation, afternoon is arranged sightseeing walking tour in the historical center with local guide.

    Day 7


    Island Sipan

    After the breakfast you leave a Dubrovnik for a day trip to Elafite island Sipan. From your Dubrovnik accommodation you will cycle to port Gruz where bikes are put on board for the crossing to island Sipan. Todays ride on the island is very easy, relax, a short biking distance can combine with sightseeing, swimming and relax on this quite island. Island Sipan was the residential place of Dubrovnik’s patricians but today is calm and well-preserved typical Dalmatian island. Following the road from Sudjuradj past vineyards and olive groves to Luka, a small harbour on the west of the island.
    Here you will find many interesting sights to explore: including old churches, summer residential palaces, beautiful pine forests and hidden bays. This is ideal day for easy cycling,swimming and relax from the city crowds. During afternoon you take a ferry back to Dubrovnik (there are several times that you can choose for return to Dubrovnik). Overnight in Dubrovnik.

    Day 8


    Departure from Dubrovnik

    A transfer to Dubrovnik airport will be organised from Dubrovnik city.

    At your arrival you will be provided a hybrid bike. You will also be provided two saddle bags to be able to put your belongings for the day and/or your picnic and a helmet.

    Ebikes are also available on this trip.

    Travel documents

    A cycling holiday is the best way to explore a region and discover its culture, landscapes and local traditions.

    Your tour is self-guided to give you the freedom to ride at your own pace. You will be provided all the information you need to enjoy peacefully the itinerary and its interesting sites.
    Travel documents will be handed out on site the day of your arrival. Travel documents are written in french.

    You will have in your travel documents :

    • your day-by-day program with your accommodations
    • detailed map of your itinerary for each day
    • a step-by-step description of the itinerary giving the direction to follow at each intersection

    You can also rent a GPS.


    Our services include luggage transport in order to let you enjoy your trip comfortably and without stress (optional for short trips) :

    We transport your luggage from one accommodation to the next using a private vehicle.
    Your luggage is directly delivered in your hotel room before you arrive.
    We provide bicycle saddlebags for the things you shall need during the day.

    Our word of advice : as we know from experience, we strongly recommend you to avoid wearing a backpack during your cycling trip.
