  • Switzerland invested millions of euros to develop bike routes through the whole country under the brand "Switzerland by bike". The beautiful bike routes are almost interally dedicated bike paths. We selected amongst the most incredible bike routes Switzerland has to offer, those with the best panorama, but also the easiest ones. Enjoy the sightseeing worth the travelling!

    Day 1

     
     

    Arrival in Constance

    Walk around the beautiful old medieval city of Constance or make the most of your first day by making a little trip to Mainau Island, the flower island.

    The collections of the museum in the center of the old town offer a glimpse of the rich pre and protohistory of the region of the Lake Constance. You will often find special exhibitions such as the exhibition on the life of Napoleon III, who spent his youth in the region.

    Constance - Schaffhausen

    You ride along the lake to leave Constanz and cross charming little fishermen villages on the swiss side of the lake. You reach Stein-am-Rhein where the houses are totally painted with frescoes. Then follow your way to Schaffhausen where you will spend the night.

    Schaffhausen – Zurich

    You follow your itinerary through Neuhausen up to the Rhin falls, the largest falls in Europ. A boat brings you exactly under the water falls. later on you ride in the Glatt Valley to reach Zurich, international city.

    Zurich – Lachen

    Ride along the Zurich lake on the coast locally named "Côte d’or" (Golden coast) up to Rapperswil, the roses city, proud of its medieval castle. After crossing the lake on a dyke, on the other side you follow the banks up to the small town of Lachen.

    Lachen – Vaduz

    You ride along the Linth canal which joins the Zurich lake to the Walenstadt lake up to Weesen. A ferry boat will bring you to Walenstadt. In the background stand the Churfirsten, a chaine of montains in the Pre-Alps.

    Vaduz – St. Gall

    You quickly enter the Rhin valley and cross the Lichtenstein. Don’t miss the numerous fortresses overlooking the valley. Feldkirch is already in Austria.

    St. Gall - Constance

    Bike
    45km
    Keep on riding along the Rhin river,then catch a small montain train to reach Gais in Appenzell. Here is Heidi’s country, high mountain pastures and cows will be the countryside up to St Gallen. St Gall is one of the most renowned monastery in this part of Europ. The Abbey of St. Gall is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its library contains books which date back to the 9th century.

    Departure from Constance

    After breakfast, take a city our before returning home. You may end up waiting to extend your tour so you can visit more of this delighful area.

    On your arrival day, we provide you with :
    • a touring bike adjusted to your size or a tandem
    • equipped : front rack pack with an integrated file compartment, saddlebags, helmet (on demand), reflective vest, repairing toolkit with patches etc.

    We also provide you with the appropriate equipment for your children : baby seat, bike trailer or trailer bike depending on their age and size.

    Electric bikes are also available for adults for some trips. If available, the option is specified on the page "prices".

    Luggage


    Our services include luggage transport in order to let you enjoy your trip comfortably and without stress (optional for short trips) :
    • We transport your luggage from one accommodation to the next using a private vehicle.
    • Your luggage is directly delivered in your hotel room before you arrive.
    • We provide bicycle saddlebags for the things you shall need during the day.

    If your package doesn't include luggage transport,
    the bikes will be equipped with 2 waterproof saddlebags with 10 to 20L capacity each to carry your things.

    Our word of advice : as we know from experience, we strongly recommend you to avoid wearing a backpack during your cycling trip.


    Travel documents

    A cycling holiday is the best way to explore a region and discover its culture, landscapes and local traditions.

    Your tour is self-guided to give you the freedom to ride at your own pace. You will be provided all the information you need to enjoy peacefully the itinerary and its interesting sites.
    You will have in your travel documents maps of the itinerary

    - a detailled bike map (scale 1:50 000)
    - a leaflet with the point of interest and your practical information (hotellist, opening hours, etc.)

  • How to get to Konstanz:

    By car
    • From Paris following Troyes, Bâle and Zurich (663 km / 6h53)
    • From Strasbourg following Offenburg and Villingen (191 km / 2h30)
    • From Lyon following Geneva, Lausanne, Bern et Zurich (497 km / 4h30)

    By train:

    • From Strasbourg passing by Offenburg (3h)
    • From Lyon passing by Dijon and then Zurich (5h50)

    • From Friedrichshafen (25 km) : by car or bus and by boat (40 min)
    • From Zurich (75 km) : by train to Konstanz (1 hour)


    Parking:

    If you arrive by car, you can park at the closed open-air parking at the bike rental shop. The rate is 45€ for the duration of your trip.

    The location and contact details of the car park will be given in your travel documents.

    Meeting time:

    The first day is an arrival day without cycling. You arrive whenever you want depending on from where you come. Please note that rooms are usually available in the middle of the afternoon depending on your accommodation. We thank you to advise us if you plan to arrive late.

    Super circuit verdoyant

    Un circuit effectué en famille avec des paysages époustouflant. Les chutes du Rhin superbes, le pays d'Heidi avec train à crémaillère...le lac de Constance, traversée en bateau. Le passage aussi à Feldrich en Autriche très sympa et hôtel et restaurant très bien.

    Un très beau circuit avec des paysages très variés, qui changent au fil des kilomètres ... la plus belle étape, mais la plus dure, est selon moi , l'étape entre Feldkirch et Saint Gall, au pays d'Heïdi. L'organisation est vraiment parfaite (documents avec feuilles de route et curiosités touristiques, transfert des bagages), les hôtels réservés sont vraiment très bien, luxueux pour certains ... Des bons mollets, l'envie et la persévérance ... ça vaut vraiment le coup !!! Merci à Vélo voyageur

    Super circuit : bien organisé autant sur le choix du circuit , le rythme que sur l'hébergement, Les vélos loués étaient très bien Nous avons pris l option : un jour de plus à Zurich et cela nous a permis de visiter la ville . Notre voyage date d août 2017 ( pas pris le temps de laisser un avis !)...et il nous en reste que des bons souvenirs

    Trois lacs, quatre pays à découvrir

    De très beaux paysages sur des pistes cyclables remarquables avec à chaque arrivée des hôtels splendides, un circuit très varié (vélo, bateau, train) à recommander mais il faut un peu d'entraînement car ça grimpe parfois mais donc ensuite ça descend.

    La Suisse à vélo c'est vraiment beau

    un magnifique circuit qui demande parfois de bons mollets pour découvrir des paysages magnifiques avec à l'arrivée de très beaux hôtels et des accueils chaleureux, bravo aux organisatrices.
