  • Arcachon Bay cycling paths provide you with a great choice of nice destinations in the area: the oyster-farming village of Gujan Mestras, the wide sand beaches, the great dune of Pyla or the fragrant pine forest next to the dunes.

Arcachon bateliers can also give you a boat ride to Cap Ferret, where you can wander to see the oyster-fishing huts in their lively and contrasted colors and the awesome view on the bay. In the culture field, do not miss Arcachon Winter Town and admire the typical architecture of the villas.

    DAY 1

To the Great Dune of Pilat and the ocean

On this route, you’ll ride along the coastline and dunes towards the Dune of Pilat. Take time to sunbath on the beach or enjoy a dip in the ocean water.

    DAY 2

Suggested day trip : Lac de Cazaux

Bike towards the dune of Pyla and leave the beautiful city of Arcachon behind. Cross the beautiful pine forest on a small slightly hilly country road and reach the impressive lake of Cazaux. The bike tour back to Arcachon is on a very flat bike path.

Suggested day trip : oyster-farming villages and the Leyre delta

Learn about oyster farming from dedicated oyster farmers in Gujan Mestras and sample the freshest oysters you’ll ever taste! The Leyre Delta is where fresh waters of the river and the salty waters of the ocean meet. You can go bird watching or rent a canoe or kayak and explore the area or water.

Oyster museum (Maison de l’huître) Approximately 1 hour, included in tour. The museum visit is partly guided.

    DAY 3
