Great experience travelling along the Canal Lateral de Garonne from Bordeaux to Toulouse with Velo Voyageur. Great organisation and their app makes the journey a breeze.

This is a great trip for people wanting a relaxing cycle that takes you across the middle of France. Lots of variation in scenery. Fantastic history and a stunning feat of engineering in the Canal du Midi. The trip was well constructed and the hotels offered great service with the unique atmosphere of independent run hotels.

The Vélo Voyageur representative worked with me to design a personalized trip which exceeded expectations. I would highly recommend the Canal for those looking for easy cycling, interesting scenery, and beautiful villages. The accommodation was always clean and centrally located, the breakfasts perfect to fill up for a day of cycling. The trip was exactly as I imagined.

Overall, we enjoyed our trip with VeloVoyageur from Toulouse to Carcassone very much! The bikes provided by Le Petit Cyclo as well as the helmets, front and back panniers and locks were in good shape and perfectly suited for the terrain. Although cycling along Le Canal du Midi was beautiful we knew we would tire of the terrain so prior to arriving, had developed routes that lead us in to the surrounding hills and villages (with the permission of Velo Voyager to do so). It was so worth it! Luggage transfers went well! Accommodations and breakfasts arranged were unique and all were pleasant and more than adequate. There was a bit of a surprise 5 km route around the lake by Carcassone on the circular tour that was more like mountain biking - could be a problem for some but could be bypassed if people were forewarned! Overall - very pleasant way to travel for those who like to cycle and explore using a self guided format.

A terrific program, with excellent support and everything you need to have a once-in-a-lifetime journey that fits your goals. The trip was fantastic, and Le Vélo Voyageur was incredibly helpful and responsive. The bike was well equipped and maintained, and I had everything I needed for a wonderful vacation!

A lovely trip. Started in Toulouse which was a lovely city to explore. The canal was beautiful lined with magnificent poplar trees for most of the way. Was good at times leaving the canal to see the villages and views of the Pyrenees. Our final destination Carcassone was well worth staying an extra day to explore the fortified city. Accommodation arranged was all to a high standard. Loved our cycling ☺️

Our trip was amazing. We experienced idyllic rides along the canal under beautiful canopy of plain trees. We traveled through interesting countryside towns, and the food and hotel stays were beyond delightful. I highly recommend your company! Thank you for the wonderful experience.

The Canal des Deux Mers route provides amongst the best that France offers for a cycle touring holiday. There is so much history, culture and countryside to enjoy in hundreds of kilometres of largely off-road riding. Our enjoyment of this holiday was heightened by the excellent accommodation and the helpful roadbook from Le Vélo Voyageur. We would use their services again without hesitation.

My husband, 10 year old daughter and I did the Canal du Midi trip in August 2018 and thoroughly enjoyed it. This was our first time to do a cycling trip and we really appreciated the organization of Le Velo Voyageur. The bikes were good with ample storage in the saddle bags, and a solid rack you could strap other things to (we strapped our picnic blanket on top). The baggage delivery service was perfect. The luggage always arrived in great condition and was waiting for us each day. Le Velo Voyageur planned a nice route with a good variety of hotels and bed & breakfasts and restaurant dinners. The owners of all the places were very nice, helpful, and a pleasure to meet. I don't think I would have come across those bed & breakfasts on my own. La Bastide Negra and Domaine Saint Jolie were delightful places to stay. Comfortable beds, beautiful houses, lovely scenery, delicious food, and interesting guests. The roadbook was excellent, very precise directions. The locks along the canal were fascinating to see in action, and the ride itself along the canal is almost entirely shaded. A bit of practical advice here. We stayed two nights in Toulouse before the start of the trip. This made getting over jet lag easier since we came from the US on an overseas / overnight flight. On the last day of the trip we decided to train to Paris after we arrived in Carcassonne so were a bit rushed although we managed to bike a little around Carcassonne. I would definitely recommend not leaving Carcassonne until later in the day or ideally the next morning. Dropping off the bikes, picking up luggage at a hotel, then finding a place to change for the train was less than ideal. Next time we will stay longer in Carcassonne and plan a place to change if we don't have a hotel. I should note that, for us, Carcassonne wasn't a very easy city to bike through (very narrow roads, lots of pedestrian traffic) but it was a very interesting city to walk around. I highly recommend this trip!

This trip was along great bike paths. The rail to trail route was excellent. The route along the canal du Garonne was beautiful and paved. We stayed at some great Chambres du hôte, the meal at the Chateau du Cresy was amazing with wonderful wine. Our hosts in Le Mas d’Agenais were so welcoming and even did a load of wash for us! This area was not very touristy, so different from Paris. We enjoyed the art Museum in Agen

I would highly recommend using Le Velo Voyageur. My wife and I were very pleased with our cycling vacation. The bikes were excellent - almost brand new. The turn-by-turn directions (supplemented with maps) were flawless. (The only turn we missed was my mistake.) The accommodations they booked for us were exactly what we were looking for. The pacing of the trip was exactly what we wanted and allowed us to explore the villages along the way.

Nice easy cycling on paved canal paths, if it's hot you will enjoy the shade trees! Stayed in a combination of wonderful B&B's and small hotels in the town's. Highly recommend Velo Voyageur...vey well planned trip and they are great to deal with.

Cycling the Midi is a great experience ! Most of the trail is unpaved....we really enjoyed the narrow trails but were lucky with the weather. I imagine it would have been far more challenging after rain! We were provided with great bikes with suspension. We stayed at a fantastic B&B Domain Saint-jolly...wonderful hosts!

This is our second trip with le Vélo voyageur, and again the location of the lodgings were perfect, and at every location we found many details to be remembered with pleasure: the people, the food, the swimming pools, gardens... It was very agreeable to cycle along the Canal du Midi without worrying about the luggage, having time to enjoy, and getting to know remarkable places.

We added a "rest" day in the middle of the trip, both to give the less-experienced bicyclists a break and to see the historic city of Carcassonne. For me, that day was one of the best parts of the whole journey.

Great way to discover regions of France without any stress. The hotels, chamber d hote were lovely and clean. Even when a person from our party left their Kindle behind both Vélo Voyageur and the hotel Albert 1er were really proactive in handling the situation. All the restaurants were of good quality ! Very tasty and close to the hotels if they were not on sight. We all enjoyed it very much!!

The trip was a great experience with my 16 yr old son. At times challenging, as we are not cyclists and the dirt track along the canal is tough going for much of the way, but the towns we visited were fantastic and cycling is the best way to see them. The countryside is also interesting. Plenty of wineries if you have the time. Accommodation in B&Bs in a number of places really gave as a taste of the local culture, even though we spoke virtually no French! The food was fantastic and bikes were excellent (comfortable seats!).

We had a very nice 3 days tour along the Canal du midi from Carcasonne. The route was mainly cycling on towpaths along the canal, but also on a few smaller roads. It was very safe, away from most traffic, for cycling with children. It is also flat, so again friendly for children (and those not as strong as the climbers in Le Tour the France). In the cities (Carcassonne and Narbonne) we mainly walked with the bikes in the city centres. We enjoyed the small hotel with personal service in Homps very much. The city hotels in Narbonne and Carcasonne were ok, we would have preferred smaller hotels/B&Bs with personal service if we had chosen the accommodation. We changed the route the last day, and went to Valras-Plage in stead of Beziers. In Valras-Plage we stayed at hotel Le Chatlet, which we can recommend. Information and assistance up front very good, and we always got fast replies to our questions. We especially appreciate the flexibility. This was our second journey with Le Vélo Voyager, and we will definitely order another journey later!
