« Provence - Trip »
My family and I were very satisfied with how our Provence-Trip was organized. We never had any issues with the luggage, the bikes or the gps. Everything worked perfectly, which allowed us to be completely worry-free while biking and enjoying the beautiful routes, that velovoyageur had picked for us. The bike-lanes and the cute little towns the route took us to were amazing and we would definitely recommend this trip! Also, they picked the cutest accommodations, that we would never have found ourselves, which made them even more special.

« Nice ride in the provence »
We were very satisfied about the whole experience. Everything was well organized and the contact person was very helpful. Everything worked out perfectly. The bicycles were very good, and the supported equipement as well. The App with the routes was very helpful and is well done. The daily distances were as expected and there was enough time to enjoy all the places along the route. The hotels are carefully selected and satisfied our needs.

« Excellent.bike ride »
We had a beautiful tour through Provence in mid June. The wineries and villages were beautiful. There were some tough uphills, and we did not use e-bikes, but we are in our mid 60s and managed it. Just be in fairly good aerobic shape.

« Lovely First Time Tour of Provence - Highly Recommend »
My husband and I booked a self guided 10 day extended tour in Provence and the route and scenery exceeded our hopes and expectations.Quality and well maintained bikes and small road routes, minimal shared roads, accompanied by vinyards, big sky and medieval villages all the way. Great bikes and friendly, clean accommodations. Timely and helpful communications with the team. This is our 2nd tour with Vélo Voyageurs and highly recommend.

« Beautiful ride through Provence »
The bike ride through Provence was beautiful. The quality of the bikes was good and the route was easy to follow and mostly on flat terrain through Vineyards and small villages. We opted for the mid range accommodation upgrade. Two of the four hotels were lovely. The other two were not nice and not worth the extra money. Overall we enjoyed our trip. It was a wonderful way to see the countryside.

Velo voyageur have been professional and efficient from the get go when we booked our tour from New Zealand. The GPS app was incredible so much thought and research behind it. Really easy to use and you feel very supported. The bikes routes were lovely and were mainly off the main roads. Our bikes were excellent and we had tools go any event. We did need support for a back flat tour and we’re directed to a nearby bike shop through the company. Excellent hotels .

Hele mooie fietsroute door de prachtige landschappen van de Provence. Af en toe pittig, zeker in de hitte en soms moeilijk begaanbare wegen. Over het algemeen, goed te doen en prachtige accommodaties!

« First Solo Bicycle Trip »
I loved my first solo bicycle trip! Le Velo Voyager provided what I wanted- the flexibility to go at my own pace, taking photos of lavender fields, flowers, and grape vineyards as well as exploring castles along the way! I was so lucky to have this group arrange this route off the beaten path. I felt like I got to see an authentic French countryside and would have never found these things without the Velo app. Thank you! I didn't even see other bicyclists on my path until day 4! The accomodations were great and I appreciated that they made all of these arrangements! I felt very blessed.

« De Avignon a Montpellier »
C'était un tres bon voyage. Le vélo loué était très bon. Aussi les hotels étaient bons. Une fois, un part du bagage (sac à dos) a été déposé dans un autre hotel à Montpellier. J'ai pu aller le chercher. Sinon, tout à bien marché.

« Picture Perfect Provence »
This was a lovely trip that I did with my husband and adult daughter. Great food along the way. A chance to savor Provence on “slow time” - the birdsongs, flower fragrances and even frogs singing! I highly suggest e-bikes! Lots of hills. The busy towns can be challenging to navigate, but it’s worth it. VV did a fine job in planning and running this trip. I also suggest going late or early in the season to avoid heat and crowds. We went in early May, and it was do-able and enjoyable. Vive Provence!

« A wonderful adventure in Provence! »
We really enjoyed our self guided trip through Provence with 4 days of cycling and 3 other couples. The hotels were perfect for us with respect to accommodations, breakfast, and friendly staff that were always willing to help us with our luggage, bikes, and storage. Three of our hotels had great restaurants in place for our convenience especially since it was early in the shoulder season with many restaurants not open yet open. Mid April saw no touristy crowds with tourists but our week riding there corresponded with Le Mistral Winds. We cycled through gusts of 46 mph making this an unforgettable experience. The bikes were comfortable but the GPS app took some getting used to. We would have liked the app to navigate to/from our hotel instead of the tourist centers. However, the directions were clear and the volume was good if put your phone in a pocket to avoid overheating in the plastic map covers. The handle bar bag and panniers had adequate space. We even rode with a bottle of wine in there that we bought from the wine museum. We would recommend you bring your own water bottle or Le Vélo could provide one which would be good for marketing. One of our riders had repeated flats so we called Le Vélo and they sent out a reliable mechanic that fixed the problem with the rim. Throw in some duct tape as this helped a seat post from slipping and a mud guard from rubbing but all 8 bikes made the trip well especially on the off road parts. Our overall experience was awesome cycling at our own pace along the Rhône river, amongst olive groves and vineyards, stopping off at recommended cafes for lunch, enjoying the wine tasting, and picture taking of the beautiful poppy fields, les Dentelles and Mont Ventoux. We would love to do another trip with Le Vélo soon.

« A wonderful bike tour despite the bad weather! »
We have just returned to Canada after a vacation in Europe that included visiting friends and family, but also involved a self-guided bike trip from Avignon to Sete, organized by Le Vélo Voyageur. Daily rides were about 50k in length, and before leaving, we had visions of leisurely rides in spring sunshine in the south of France. Mother Nature had a different experience in mind! It was very very windy and we experienced winds every day sometimes between 50-70 km per hour, usually working against us or from the side. We also had some wet driving rain, including one day of very heavy downpours. However, thanks to the fact that we were riding e-bikes, we arrived at our lovely hotels each afternoon with enough time and energy to enjoy the towns and cities and all their roman and medieval histories. Our luggage was waiting for us and most of the hotels were situated very close to interesting sites. From the Palais de Papes of Avignon, to the Roman Amphitheater of Arles, to the medieval city walls of Aigues-Mortes, the history of the area was fascinating and amazing. Throw in rides through picturesque orchards, vineyards, and olive groves, a glorious ride through the Alpilles between Saint-Rémy & Les Baux (thank you ebikes!, as well as the flamingos and horses in the Camargue, and you have a wonderful combination of history and nature, all in the same route. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip. It was well organized and everything went smoothly.

« Smooth and easy cycle trip »
We bikes for 4 days around Provence. The route was easy to follow and directed us along interesting quiet roads, and 35km per day or so was easy to do. The bikes and equipment (panniers, phone mount, front pouch) were of a high quality and perfect for dry or wet weather. The accommodation all had very friendly hosts and were located in convenient locations close to town. We loved our cycle trip!

« Excellent program and service »
A fantastic itinerary with excellent hotels and managers, who made everything worthwhile. We really enjoyed the Velo App which was precise. We had cause to telephone the Velo Voyageur team only once and our query was dealt with immediately (early on a Saturday). Would strongly recommend this company and this cycling itinerary is perfect for leisure riders with an interest in lavender, vines and beautiful towns.

« Great trip around Provence villages »
This was our second trip with Vélo Voyageur and we were not disappointed. The team helped us to tailor our trip to include extra time in places we especially wanted to visit near to the standard itinerary . The route finding was easy, on cycle routes where possible, or on very quiet country lanes with minimal traffic and lovely scenery. The app was very user friendly and English too! The hotels we stayed in were in peaceful locations, comfortable and characterful. We recommend Velo Voyageur and look forward to our next trip.

« A Sensory Trip through Provence »
Wherever you live in this world, it is likely that you occasionally need a vacation for your senses. If we are not given the opportunity to see, smell, taste, touch and hear new things periodically, we risk becoming stunted and will soon lose our sense of purpose on this earth. When this happens to my wife, she sometimes says to me "the flower is starting to wilt," and I know this means that action is required. The "Gems of Provence" is the trip that provides the perfect treatment. Start off with a nice long walk from Avignon across the river to Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, visit the Jardins de l'abbaye Saint-André and experience the botanical trail or "Le sentier botanique." Now, at last, you are in Provence, can you tell? From Avignon, the trip takes you to wonderful places. While the lavender fields are not blooming in October, other features take center stage as the endless vineyards sport their autumnal colors. Can you find places to stop along the way, eat your lunch and drink wine while sitting in the vineyards? Some may seek out a variety of eating establishments along the way which is fine, but I think we preferred sitting among the vines for our "pique-nique." And, under the watchful eye of Mont Ventoux. (Not cycling to the top, just below it of course) Are you getting the idea? Palaces and fortifications, public markets, bakeries, baguettes, fields of grapes and lavender, picturesque villages, a bottle of the rosé produced in these vineyards, the rich color and scent of Autumn and the setting sun illuminating the village at Séguret. Are artists inspired to paint here? Of course, what a question! The accommodations were very good, the trip was planned well and everything functioned as it should. Now, what are you going to do the next time your flower starts to wilt?

« Provence we love you »
We spent a month cycling in France. One of the trips, our trip through the Orange area in Provence was arranged by Velo Voyageur. Provence was definitely the highlight of our trip, the scenery is beautiful, lavender fields (just, end of season), harvest time for the grapes. The chateaux at Grignon is not to be missed and some of the other small towns we ambled through were just charming. Velo Voyageur were great to deal with, we changed my wife's booked bike to an eBike about a week before the trip, no problem. We had some issues first up with the brakes on my wife's eBike, again no problem a mechanic turned up and fixed them in the morning. Later on we decided to swap an extra night at the end of the trip in Orange for an extra night at the lovely vineyard of Domaine de Cabasse (and the lovely lady in reception, pay her extra Mr vineyard owner, she's worth every Euro), again the support was wonderful, no problem. Don't miss the optional ride through the Dentelles, it's worth the effort, and to be fair the steep climb is only short and pretty much un-rideable. The hotels we stayed at were better than expected, on an earlier trip with another company (to be fair a different and probably more expensive area) we always seemed to have the smallest room at the top of the last flight of stairs. On this trip the hotels were very good and low key, friendly. Often a km or two from the closest town but we loved that and anyway a km or two by bike is nothing. So all in all a wonderful trip organised by a really good company. We would love to do another trip sometime when we have saved enough leave and $ to head back over from New Zealand. Yes we did get lost a few times, mainly at the end of the day when we weren't concentrating on the distances and instructions. But on the whole the back roads keep you well away from traffic which is great. Anyway French drivers are much more courteous than NZ drivers, in NZ they would rather kill you at 100kph than wait 10 seconds behind you (although it has improved a bit from a few years ago). Oh and I forgot to say how many wonderful French people we met during our trip. Take the effort to learn a little French and the payback will be well worth it. Best job in the world? I think it would have to be a cycle trip planner and reviewer for Velo Voyaguer!

« We had a wonderful relaxed cycling trip in Provence »
We were very happy with the trip, we are a couple in our fifties who have never completed a cycling adventure like this previously. Le Velo Voyageur provided highly detailed trip information which included a log of instructions and maps - this was all clear and understandable. Our trip was rated moderate which meant some gentle grades and occasional gravel paths on predominantly quiet smaller bitumen roads that took us through smaller towns. The route choice was perfect as we were after a slow relaxed holiday ride that allowed us to safely travel this region at our own pace. I suspect that the trip enabled us to explore parts of the region we may not have otherwise considered. We opted for the basic level of accommodation which in our opinion was excellent - and provided clean hotels, good breakfasts, comfortable beds and accommodating hosts. The baggage transfer system worked well. The bikes were excellent. Thank you le Velo Voyageur.

Honestly, our 4 day cycle trip was one of the loveliest holidays I've ever had. You organised it perfectly and every aspect of the trip - from the routes you had suggested through vineyards and the prettiest towns to the places we stayed - all wonderful. You can be sure we will be booking another trip with you, it's just a question of when.
