Loire Valley

Everything was great from original planning of our custom trip 8 months ago (thanks Annaelle) to delivery in June 2025. The route was a perfect match for our needs. Roadbook and app were very clear. Bicycles including briefing were excellent. Hotels were great and matched descriptions. Luggage was delivered early every day with no damage. Many things could have gone wrong but nothing did.

I'd originally planned to do this route with my daughter but she was unable to make it, however it looked so good I decided to go alone and was so glad I did. I was very lucky with amazing weather . Bike pick up was easy although it took me a while to really suss out the in's and out's of the app. The route was great- lots of interesting places to visit along the way, really quiet and not crowded, mostly along the river or along gravel tracks or back roads . For the kayaking morning along the Vienne river (wide slow and shalllow -perfect for me on my own)-I had 4 hours to do a 3 hour trip so could meander along. It was so tranquil and peaceful (nothing but birdsong and frog song for much of the way! A great was to travel for a morning. The route away from the river to a local town each night was well thought out- each town was really worth visiting (do get there in time for some wandering) and the journey well planned with the longer rides on the early days, getting shorter through the trip. All the hotels were welcoming and helpful, clean and comfortable. I had my luggage taken from place to place (this trip was added at the end of 2 weeks in Sancerre ) and that worked well. Tip- if you need to get a taxi with your luggage to Saumur station at the end -book it in advance -the few taxis get booked up and there's no Uber here! I left my car while I was on the trip in the Indigo 24hr car park by Tours central train station (prebooked online) as suggested by Velo Voyager and that was perfect. I can't wait to have a look at the other routes and next time hopefully with some friends although I wouldn't hesitate to do it again on my own.

If you want to combine a very manageble bike tour with some cultural and gastronomic experiences that s the solution for you. The daily mileage is perfectly compatibile with extra activities like castle visits and wine tasting and in one hotel you have also the possibility to finish tha day in the spa. What you need more?

We had a wonderful cycle down the Loire and associated rivers beginning in Tours and ending in Samaur, and our trip included half a day’s kayaking, which I loved. The route was often covered by tree canopy which made it cooling and we could hear the sound of birds all the time. The castles and towns were interesting to visit and we enjoyed some delicious meals, cakes and crepes and wine en route. It is such a fun way to see the landscape. The hotel accommodation were great quality.

We went as a family of 5 (ages 13,10,8) on the regular bikes provided and stayed in 3-4* rated hotels on a 4 night trip. The experience itself was great, saw much of France we wouldn’t have seen. Beautiful countryside and amazing chateaux. The luggage transfer was great! Most of the bike paths share a road with cars, which it wasn’t much of an issue, though cars don’t typically slow down much for you. The app and signs along the way helped navigate our way around (with google maps helping at times). The bikes needed some maintenance- and the hotels were ok, a couple nicer than others. We are in pretty good shape as a family and a couple of the days were 25+miles and quite hilly and it was challenging. If we do it again, which would be fun in other countries as well, we will wait until all our kids are big enough for e-bikes. Overall I’m glad we did it and would recommend!!

Our 8-day Loire River Valley tour with Velo Voyageur was a great experience. The selected route was a perfect combination of trails and rural roads thru the scenic area.. Riding through vineyards, pastures, forests, small towns and along streams and rivers was very peaceful. Knowing that all of the logistics were taken care of, especially our luggage transfers, left us to focus on the experience. We look forward to our next adventure with Velo Voyageur.

Great ten days cycling along the Loire. Beautifully curated and implemented with careful attention to the detail. A fantastic App, maps and information were provided. Great accommodation and seamless luggage transfers with local activities along the way made this a superb holiday! Highly recommended!

An excellent way to experience this area of France! Overall we were very satisfied with our holiday and enjoyed the views and the ride. The only issue we had occurred on the final day, when the rain caused mud to cover our backs, the mudguards/fenders on the bike did not offer much protection.

The Sportive tour of The Loire was amazing. We had a fabulous time. The app was easy to use and the scenery was spectacular.

this was our first cycle trip and we did 4 nights accommodation, 3 days of cycling. it was really enjoyable. of course it helped that it was so sunny, early spring, vibrant colors of the country side. The hotels/bikes/luggage transfer all worked, which was kinda cool as we never booked anything like this before. The route was well proposed by the app and we really enjoyed a couple of detours it offered. Definitely learned that the app knows cool places and it's best to follow it exactly . thank you for the Le Velo Voyageur team for wonderful memories.

le Velo Voyageur did a fantastic job planning and executing our trip and I feel they are a very affordable option. Their customer service was top notch, always quick to respond to my questions. We found the bikes and app to be in great shape and easy to use. Our e-bikes were perfect for exploring the area. We probably could have handled regular bikes as the road is very flat, but I was happy not to exert too much effort :) The area is clearly ideal for cycling enthusiasts. The hotels had safe garages for parking each night. The road is very well marked and maintained. The few encounters with car traffic we experienced was great - I found the drivers to be extremely polite and accommodating to us and never felt unsafe. We had an amazing adventure biking through the Loire Valley. The only thing that could have been better was the weather, but we can't control that, so we just had to embrace it.

This is an intense tour because in addition to the 50-70 km daily you get to see 2-3 castles every day. You should plan for 2 hours in every chateau, so that leaves you with very little time for other activities. We did lunches quickly (crepes are everywhere and you can buy salads and sandwiches in supermarket for fast options). Hotels are all in the city centers and breakfasts were good. Really recommend the trip to everyone looking to combine a slight challenge with visiting beautiful castles.

We had a great tour despite several days of rain. The route and accommodations were good and Chateau Villandry and the Au Coin des Halles restaurant in Langeais are amazing. The app is very helpful given all the twists and turns. The e-bikes were not the greatest--one was hub drive, one's lights did not work, and both had squeaky rim brakes.

If possible we would give 11 out of 10 stars.

A great ride but a couple of long days. Well organised and great accommodation.

From initial contact to commencement in Blois to completion in Angers Le Velo Voyageur were efficient, professional and faultless. Good communication. Not a single surprise. Safe and scenic routes, a very good app, great accommodation and well located (our was the intermediate grade and perfect for our needs), reliable logistics for our bags. These people are outstanding, we have no hesitation in recommending them. Tim, Sue.

Le Velo set up our trip well, the itinerary was beautiful, the e-bike batteries lasted a long time, the hotels were nice and the luggage delivery worked well. God I love wine.

Enjoyed the trip despite some issues. Loved casting and exploring the gorgeous towns and villages along the way. Bikes were good after sorting out some problems when first picked up. Had to return with bikes which delayed us significantly. One bike had a disconnected chain which was fixed when we took back but had to return again as was slipping when changing gears. They also forgot to give us the lock after removing it to give us a demonstration. Drink bottle holders were also broken and had to be replaced. The gps app was unclear how to use. The first day it took us onto a major highway where bikes are prohibited. The only time the bike route is able to be chosen is if you click on day 1, day 2 etc. If you select a destination to visit on the way the car route comes up so be aware of this. Accommodation was good apart from one hotel in Fontevraud that had small pokey rooms and no air conditioning. We paid extra to upgrade to a larger room on a lower floor that had large opening windows to be more comfortable during hot weather. The town of Fontevraud was also disappointing and was a wasted stay. Very small town, nothing to do except for the Abbey which is asulterated after being used as a prison and has awful modern artwork throughout. Extremely unfriendly towards tourists, and opening hours of the very few restaurants in town very limited. Luggage service was excellent. Always there at hotel when we arrived around 3pm each day. From the description on website we thought we would be traveling on mainly car free roads along river but we actually were on public roads for much of the trip. Thankfully they were mainly quiet country roads.

We are a family of 5 from Canada with 3 kids aged 8, 11 and 13 and this was our first bike trip together. We were incredibly happy with the trip from Velo Voyageur cycling between Blois and Amboise over 7 days. Averaging 25km a day along flat routes was a very reasonable distance for everyone including the 8 year old. The variety of sites and activities were fantastic - from a chateau, to chocolate factory, winery and Leonardo da Vinci's last house - there was lots to keep the kids entertained during or after the ride. The app was easy to use for directions, bikes were in good shape and we had no technical issues. Two of our riders are over 6ft tall and the bikes were sized appropriately. We had no concerns with the bags getting moved each day - the trip was really flawless. The kids really enjoyed the pools at a couple of the hotels we stayed at, and Velo Voyageur helped us to change the last hotel at the end of our trip for us to stay a couple extra nights, and to make sure it had a pool. We appreciated the restaurant recommendations ahead of time, and information on which towns we should pre-book dinners in. All questions were answered quickly. We would definitely use their service again!

The tour organisation was excellent, planning well considered. Bikes were solid and reliable. We chose the upgraded 3-4 star accommodation - was a mix of 3 and 4. We are a mid 50s, bike fit couple and are comfortable doing 50-60km/day on our own (lighter) bikes, however: We managed to ride 260km of the possible 370km. Rain every night and into the morning delayed most of our morning departures and we were both struggling with colds. Riding 60km/day was a real challenge with the heavy bikes, terrain, and detours that we had to make due to flooding. We caught a train on two of the days to make up some time and distance. We really enjoyed the weeks experience and have some wonderful memories.

So glad I booked through LVV! One of the best vacations I have taken in recent years. Will be using this service again soon.

Very nice itinerary however we encountered flooding on our trip and had some issues. Trails should have been vetted by the operator. I would have given a 5 star if it wasn’t for that issue.

A well organised trip, clearly with much local knowledge of the best places to stay and eat.The choice of restaurants was excellent...the food was sublime! We cycled about 70km per day that was perfect for us.

Ich bin wirklich begeistert von der Organisation dieser Reise. Ich bin den Loire Radweg von Blois nach Angers in der "sportiven" Variante geradelt. Allerdings muss man bedenken, dass man dann kaum Zeit zur Besichtigung der Schlösser hat. Ich würde daher rückblickend die entspanntere Variante empfehlen. Das Leihrad ist stabil und war gut in Schuss. Der Gepäckservice hat super funktioniert und in den meisten Fällen war mein Gepäck schon vor mir da. Die velo voyageur App für die Route ist sehr gut aufgebaut, die Navigation lässt keine Fragen offen und enthält hilfreiche Tipps (Supermärkte, Öffnungszeiten, bemerkenswerte Spots). Die jeweiligen Radwege der Region sind aber auch gut ausgeschildert. Die Hotels der Kategorie A waren alle gut, bis auf eines, was ich an velo voyageur weitergegeben habe. Ich kann die Reise sehr empfehlen!

My wife and I very much enjoyed our week cycling along the Loire. The scenery and chateaux were wonderful. The accommodation, food and drink excellent. All the logistic arrangements worked perfectly and everyone was friendly and helpful. There was quite a bit of spring flooding along the river banks and we had fun improvising routes around without difficulty.

This was a wonderfully organized tour of the Loire Valley. Very easy booking process, easy to use app and navigation very nice accommodations. Would definitely book with this company again.

The route along the Loire is spectacular. The ride itself is easy with a few gently climbs that could be accomplished by anyone. The variety of scenery is also remarkable from pretty towns and villages to cave-dwellings and lots of chateaus and vineyards in between. It was easy to collect our bikes and follow the route using the app, Our luggage was waiting for us at our next hotel so all we had to carry was our picnic. We opted for the best standard of accommodation. Compared to the UK you get exceptional hotels for a very low price. It was well worth the upgrade in my opinion. Every corner you turn there are fabulous restaurants and wine bars. Despite the cycling we put on a bit of weight with the lovely Chinon wines! The rental bikes were new, solid and reliable, but if you are used to a higher quality bike then you might want to bring your own.Otherwise they got us around quite well.

Our Loire Valley trip with Velo Voyageur was great. Velo Voyageur gave us 8 days/7 nights from the 15 day Orleans to the Ocean trip; we chose the Blois to Saumur portion. The itinerary was just wonderful, the e-cycles were great. More than enough power (an improvement over the less well powered e-bikes on or Best of the Dordogne self-guided tour, which we gave 4 stars). The hotels were charming and well situated ... a real delight. Such wonderful chateaux to visit, all along the route, each and every day. 5/5 stars for the Loire Valley trip!

This three day trip from Tours to Saumur takes in some of the varied scenery, including chateaux, villages, museums etc. A great introduction to a very interesting area.

I really loved our honeymoon, cycling around the Loire Valley and drinking the best wine. The route was beautiful and doable. Definitely recommend!

First class organization for bike holiday with children

We had a great time on our 3 day tour around Blois. It was the perfect route to take our 18 month old son as the days of cycling weren’t too long and we could take breaks often. The villages and landscape were beautiful. The vélo voyager app was excellent and really easy to use and the places we stayed were great. We would love to do another trip one day.

We enjoyed 10 relaxed days on a perfectly organized trip through lovely landscapes, with great sights and excellent food. Also our 12 year old daughter was happy! Highly ecommended! Many thanks to Eloïse and the whole staff of Vélo Voyageur!

Le Velo Voyageur organized a fantastic trip for us, riding four days along the Loire. It was like being in a dream, riding in 74 degree weather with part sun and a breeze, cruising down country roads, seeing manicured fields of sunflowers, and then pulling up to gorgeous chateaus. The route was really well-thought-out, and the bikes were comfy and worked well. The B&B breakfast was amazing and the service was perfect at 3 out of 4 of hotels. We had to call with questions about hotel location and luggage delivery times twice, and both times, we got a callback with a solution within a few minutes.

Four day exploring the Loire Valley was just not enough, well for me anyway! My 13yo daughter thought it was just long enough! The trip was well planned and once we worked out the app it all went very smoothly. The route along the Loire and through all the beautiful villages and castles was perfect. So nice to ride leisurely through the sunflower fields one day and the grape yard the next. Very picturesque. The weather was a bit overcast and some showers but it kept us cool most of the time. Still enough sun to take amazing photos and enjoy the scenery. We rented bikes and bags for our luggage. Bikes were suitable for our needs. The 13yo would have preferred an electric bike but she managed. All the hotels were of very high quality and we wouldn't have picked ourselves. All the hosts were very welcoming and helpful with suggestions and advise. Totally recommend this trip and Le Vélo Voyageur

The trip was organised very well and the accommodation selected was very good. All the towns visited were really enjoyable and the cycling itself was great fun. The app was very easy to follow and the roads and cycle paths in France were very well signposted and maintained.

Die Tagesetappen nicht so lang, somit bleibt viel Zeit für die Besichtigungen. Rundum eine gelungene Reise.

A lovely gentle 4 day trip, with the sounds and delights of canal life. Cycle paths were peaceful once out of Toulouse. By day 3 we were glad of being away from the canal into the countryside - cycling through the beautiful village of St. Papoul. a stop at the village Boulangarie is a must, along with a visit to the Abbay. Thereafter we climbed up and cycled across the tops of hills towards Bram, racing the following storm clouds. We had manual bikes this time but will choose electric ones next time to offer us more scope for exploring off route. Looking forward to exploring more of France in our next trip with Velo Voyageur!

We would highly recommend this tour. The route was varied and scenic, while being easy to navigate and easy to ride. The trip logistics ran very smoothly, with great communication from the team in the lead up and throughout. The accommodation selections were also lovely and comfortable. We loved stopping at all of the wine houses along the route - the biggest challenge was picking which wines we wanted to buy that would also fit in the bike satchel.

Excellent trip. We wanted to visit chateaux each day and were afraid that the distances would be too long each day to allow visits. However, the distances were fine. We visited 1 or 2 chateaux each day and spent 2 to 3 hours at each one. We are older aduts (68 years old), but reasonably fit for our ages. We rode our bicycles for 2 hours every other day for 3 weeks before our trip in order to get in shape so we would not be saddle sore. The app showing the routes and highlights was excellent and easy to follow. This was our 5th self-guided bicycle tour in Europe, but the first one with an app. In the "old days" we only had paper maps. This was much easier to follow!

This trip was excellent. The instructions and directions where easy to understand. I would recommend this trip in April, as the roads were so quiet! Visiting the chateaus was lovely and not crowded. I imagine in the summer, it must be madness. Thank you for the planning and support, Velo Voyageur!

Our party of four had a wonderful fortnight cycling along the Loire from Blois to Saumur. The itinerary allowed just the right amount of time to visit the chateaux and experience the landscape and cuisine while allowing us to arrive at our destination hotels with time to explore the local towns. The Scott bicycles were very good and well-equipped and maintained. The daily luggage transfer was perfect and allowed us to carry only what we needed for each day's cycling. This trip is highly recommended!

August 22 - 3/4 star hotel cycling package. We had an absolutely fantastic time, with no hiccups due to the exemplary organisation of le Velo Voyageur and its absolutely brilliant real-time navigation app. A good mix of 3 and 4 star hotels, including a couple of really nice ones where we were delighted to stay for more than a single night. We were extremely impressed by the level of service and organisation provided by le Velo Voyageur and would not hesitate to thoroughly recommend.

We were a group of 2 adults, 2 kids (9 and 10years old) and 1 grandmother who just completed the Tours to Saumur cycle holiday. We all found it a fantastic experience and one we really want to repeat. The cycle route was so nice, passing numerous castles and vineyards and we enjoyed all the lovely, picturesque littles towns we stayed in. Everything was superbly arranged by Le Velo Voyageur for which we were really grateful.

A very enjoyable tour, encompassing a wide range of Chateaux, vineyards and other attractions. Very well organised. Routes are very clearly sign-posted and generally stick to paths and back roads. Options were provided to adjust the distances we travelled each day. We stayed in a range of hotels from 2 star to 4 star. Difference basically boiled down to whether there was AC and a fridge in the room. Breakfasts did not vary much between properties. Luggage transfers worked well (though few hotels bothered to put the bags in our room). Locals tried hard to dissuade us from swimming in the Loire, but there were other wild swimming opportunities to be had. Every town we stayed in was lovely with no shortage of restaurants and things to see and do.

Levelovoyageur did an outstanding job arranging our bike tour through the Loire Valley. We were happy with every aspect of our trip - the GPS, written directions, the hotels and B&B's - all of it was just great.

Another fabulous trip organized by Vélo Voyageur. Their routes and services are really quite exceptional. Their app on my iPhone worked flawlessly, taking us on roads and pathways with little or no traffic, and it was impossible to get lost. If for whatever reason we veered off track, the program alerted us immediately, and we were able to retrace our steps and proceed in the right direction. This is my second trip with Vélo Voyageur, and both have been exceedingly enjoyable. They also arrange to custom fit the type of bicycle and equipment I prefer, and the bicycles always perform without any problems.

Cuckoos called, frogs ribbited and a hare hopped through the barley. We saw orchids, and had the scent of lilacs following us. We slept in nice hotels and visited amazing gardens and chateaux. Spring in the Loire valley was kind to us: we had fantastic weather. Still, with our good bicycles and a lot of options to visit indoor attractions like Beauregard castle or cave dwellings, some rain would not have dampened our spirits. It is a great area to explore by bike and with the app (we called the voice of the app Eric and had a lot of fun with him), the maps and and the directions we didn't waste time having arguments about crossings;-). Highly recommended.

Fietsen door de mooie Loirestreek is de ideale manier om op een sportieve manier de streek te ontdekken. Het parcours leidt je langs wijngaarden, zonnebloemvelden, ....Chenonceau, Villandry en Azay-le-Rideau zijn absolute pareltjes.

I found the velo voyageur team particularly gracious, kind, patient and accommodating. Truly excellent! The route was spectacular, and the guide maps and GPS were so helpful. Also, I thought it was wonderful that the team is so accepting of a solo traveler. Many tourist companies are not very accommodating of solo voyagers, and it's particularly helpful to find a company that is open minded and professional in this regard.

Last week we did a family trip, we chose the 4 days long weekend option Chateaux de la Loire. I was a bit skeptical at first since there were a lot of logistics involved: bikes, luggage transport, different hotel each day, etc. But I must say that with the Velo Voyager we had one of the best holiday experiences ever. Everything was just PERFECT, no snags. The electric bicycles they prepared were in perfect condition, they included everything you may think of that may be needed in case of urgency, including rain covers for all bags – which we needed the first day. The B&Bs were well chosen, our luggage was always there when we arrived. Thank you, Sarah and Cloe, for your assistance and flawless organization.

Great trip, really well organised with clear information provided from start to finish. Lovely varied route with plenty of things to do along the way with our two children. High quality bikes and beautiful places to stay. Felt like a real adventure, especially with the day canoeing to break up the riding. The trailer bikes were a good option for us as although it was an 'easy' route it was quite hilly in places so would have been difficult for our 6 and 9 year old on their own bikes.

A huge thanks to le Velo Voyageur, we had an amazing trip and they made everything so very simple for us. All the information from maps to accommodation were sent to us well in advance. They were very friendly and helpful and we highly recommend them. The only downside... it wasn't long enough!! We'll be back!

We enjoyed the route. The notes supplied were comprehensive although there were a couple of wrong directions on the last day. The bikes were very good, the bike hire collection and drop off was very easy to find and the accomodation was mostly good. Luggage transfer was excellent. Will consider using Le Vélo again in the future.

Great trip: the selection of restaurants and hotels was absolutely terrific. We really appreciated the chocolate tour; Chenonceau is not to be missed, which we almost did because we had seen so many chateaux by then. I loved the bike route planned around that visit especially but all the routes were great. An electric bike allowed one of us to do the trip even though she had a pulled groin. Fantastic trip. Top tips: bring a bike odometer so you can know exacly how many kilometers you have gone so as to follow the directions much more easily; don't hesistate to get an electric bike (one of us had a pulled groin & was still able to do the trip); don't assume, as I did, that a gps app would be better than the printed booklet and maps--these were great, crucial even. Nothing like sitting at dinner with your map for the next day and talking through your plans with family over a delicious meal. Almost as good as being outside all day biking on the bike paths!

I'd like to say that my husband and I booked this trip to start our Honeymoon trip to France. We were so impressed by the level of detail taken to accurately map out our trip, advise to points of interest and the bed and breakfasts each night. We quickly realized that this was not a trip we would ever forget or ever be able to put together on our own. We rode on cobblestone roads, through lush forests, near beautiful rivers and medieval architecture. This was a once in a lifetime trip for us and are so thankful we stumbled across le Velo Voyageur! We celebrated when we hit 100 miles! What an amazing time we had!

The communications with LVV were very timely and thorough. All trip information was very complete and helpful. The price is good value. Hotels were all very good - a couple without air conditioning made for some difficult nights given the unseasonably hot and humid weather. The rental bike and gear were all excellent with no problems at all. GPS files worked well with my personal Garmin unit. Luggage transfers all went smoothly. I used 'The Fork' app to find great local restaurants every night. Overall an excellent trip and I plan to book every year with LVV for at least one trip per year. Thank you. Well done!

We had a great time on this trip. The choice of hotels were fantastic, the routes were nice, the descriptions and tidbits of information about things to do, and the history of the area, were excellent. Because a significant portion of the trip was on roads that were not in good condition, a bicycle with better suspension would have been helpful. Therefor four stars not five. But everything else was amazing. The bike itself was very good and all the equipment, etc, was great. The Velo Voyageur people were extremely responsive, helpful and nice. Excellent overall -- a strong recommend!

Our trip was absolutely fantastic. The route was really well sign_posted and there was so much to see and do each day. We stopped at some lovely restaurants along the route and our accommodation was of a really good standard. Everyone was very helpful and we had a great time and will certainly come back to do some more trips with velo voyageur.

We booked a 2-day cycling trip around Amboise in the Loire Valley. All the instructions and booking vouchers were emailed within 10-14 days prior to the trip and we had no problem using the voucher to enter the castle or hotel. The rental bike company didn’t seem to be aware of our arrival but didn’t seem to mind and proceeded to show us to the bikes! What’s really great is the app that they use for the routes, it has very detailed instructions on where to go/turn, in most cases they even had a picture of the actual junction with arrow to mark which way we should go, very easy! The app does drain your phone battery quickly so I suggest bringing a powerbank with you and you can quickly top up the battery while you stop for break or visiting the chateaux and vineyards!

Extremely enjoyable and quite the cultural immersion for a pair of Aussie retirees. Distances and sightseeing were well balanced.

We had an amazing trip.We are fit but in our 70's so were a little apprehensive. When we arrived at our lovely accommodation we were given our maps and documents.The following morning we picked up our bikes and were on our way.The bikes are in excellent condition so there was no trouble with our transportation.The distance between each village was great, and spending mostly two nights in each place made it relaxing.Our accommodation was delightful and very quaint.The cycling was fantastic,but we will let you discover that,as there are so many surprising days on this adventure.Thank you for taking us on this journey.

The cycling was great, castles to visit were nice and varied, most hotels were very good, food advice was good in general. The pace was well thought, and we enjoyed our trip very much. We had a very good time cycling in the Loire Valley and visiting local towns and castles. The trip was very well organized by Velo Voyageurs, with very clear roadbook. Hotels and food were great, except the Hotel Plantagenet, which was very disappointing and shouldn't be in the list of selected hotels

Excellent trip

A thoroughly enjoyable trip where we challenged ourselves to move out of our comfort zone by doing an activity which we had not done before. Riding in your home country occasionally is a very different experience to riding longer distances each day in a foreign country. A very pleasing outvome and highly recommended.

This was a throughly enjoyable experience. All arrangements made for us were up to and often exceeded our expectations. The itinerary was excellent taking us through beautiful countryside and interesting sites. The bikes we were given were fully equipped and very comfortable. Directions and maps were clear and easy to follow. The paths and roads are well signed.

We spent 5 glorious days biking and canoeing from Tours to Saumur and it was absolutely amazing. Beautiful rides, top- notch accommodations and flawless arrangements with canoeing connection, luggage delivery and hotel check-ins. This was our second trip with Velo and will not be our last. My trip was an amazing experience. The route takes you through the beautiful French countryside, and there is so much to do and see! Everything went smoothly, from luggage transport to the quality of the bike. The hotels were all very nice, and the staff were very helpful, in spite of my limited knowledge of French. It was a vacation that I will never forget!

Wir haben eine wunderschöne Loire-Fahrrad-Tour von Alzay l'Rideou bis Ancenis genossen. Eine Kanufahrt war in die Fahrradtour mit aufgenommen. Die Fahrräder waren hervorragend ausgestattet und das Kartenmaterial war sehr gut, so dass es keine Schwierigkeiten gab, die Strecken zu fahren. Der Schwierigkeitsgrad war wie offeriert. Unsere Unterkünfte waren alle hervorragend. Wir haben uns jeden Tag auf die neue Unterkunft am Abend gefreut. Die Reise hat uns allen (5 Personen) sehr viel Spaß gemacht und ist auf jeden Fall weiter zu empfehlen.

Not so much. We had a lot of problems, first we didn't find the bikes when we were supposed to find them and we los a half day which meant (being with small children that we lost the first day on a 4 days trip. Then we had the trailer bikes whwn I had ask for a sporadic way to connect my childrens bike to mine. Then we had dinners included but in one hotel we found a cold dish and not the restaurant and the cold dish was impossible for us to eat because we have food allergies....the third night the restaurants was too far from the hotel. we will ask for remboursement.

We have just come back from a 10 days-trip "d'Orléans à Tours". We had a great time and everything worked out fine: the bikes were comfortable, the information we were provided with was useful; lodgements and restaurants were great and the landscape, castles, towns and villages we saw along the way were lovely. A great trip. We booked at the last minute and didnt want a standard trip. They were able to provide us with a great trip that more than met our expectations. The organisation was superb. Our bikes were at the first hotel as promised and all the organisation ran perfectly. All the accommodation was very satisfactory, and of an interesting mix. The cycle notes were easy to follow and the bikes were good.. And to make it even better the weather was perfect: fine and not too hot

We really enjoyed this eight day cycle in the Loire Valley. The itinerary was well balanced with interesting landscape and cycle routes. The map books were excellent along with the cycles provided. Apart from the accommodation at Hotel Plantagenet in Chinon all the rest were excellent. This was our second trip with Velo Voyageur and on both occasions we have found them very good to deal with.

A wonderful trip. Well organised, good accomodation, and new, well maintained bicycles. The luggage delivery was particularly welcome at the end of a days cycling in the summer warmth. Some of my favourite holiday memories from this trip.

What an amazing trip! It started with a very good logistic of dropping luggage and picking up bikes! The circuit was very well describe with some great restaurant recommendation ( my mouth is still watering when i think of the resto "le lion d'or" in Candé-sur-Beuvron) and had a booklet with history of few castles. We had a problem with my daughter's bike's brakes on Sunday. To my surprise I had to gave only one phone call to get a new bike waiting for us in our accommodation. it is our first trip with velo voyageur but definitely not the last!

Great company to deal with. Chloe went out of her way to arrange and help plan sections of our ride. This allowed us to just do the cycling!

We had a wonderful week with cycling along and near the Loire. It was very nice with some options on the route (long and short), and also the possibility of taking one day off when we had two nights in the same hotel. The option with the canoe was also a success. It was the first time we travelled with Le Vélo Voyager, and we were very impressed with friendly service and help up front, and everything was perfect organized. We travelled with a child (9 years old), and we had all a very nice "Tour da France"!

This was the highlight of our trip in our second trip to France. Good bikes, fun, and reliable; picnic area suggestions-nice idea; good accommodations and friendly hosts (we took option B, 3 star accommodations)-only one was not central and harder to find; however they were all from good to nice (in one we could see the Loire below from our window); great itineraries and castle selection; baggage logistics-worked well, no issues at all; booklets - nicely put together; overview maps-good; good balance quality / price. Can be improved: directions in English: we found 80% were OK, the rest of 20% were sufficient to mess up part of the day. Google maps on the phone saved the day several times (we got an Orange SIM card for the iPhone and spent around E20 for cards). Also, we found that often it was better to simply trust the sign marked "Loire a velo" (once the first was found) or find one (check the length in km) and forget the booklet directions. General impression: great trip, great memories, nice bike rides-sometimes through peaceful villages or vineyards, rarely shared with cars, sometimes through forests or by the Loire. The directions can be improved. Nice accommodations. Highly recommended, we would come back and would go with Velo Voyageur again.

We rode from Tours to Angers and coincided with the worst rain and floods in France for 56 years. Despite this, we had a wonderful holiday. The organisation was excellent, the bikes were strong ( and waterproof!) and our luggage being transported meant we had dry clothes to change into at the end of each day. A lot of paths and small roads along by the Loire were flooded and impassable so we had to find alternative routes. The maps provided helped us to do this and whilst we encountered more hills than expected, we also saw more vineyards and little villages. The accommodation was, without exception, of an excellent standard, the hosts were welcoming and helpful (drying out clothing, lending us a car for the evening, for example) and the breakfasts, and in one case dinner, were extremely good. We would be happy to recommend Le Velo Voyageur to anyone and would certainly like to do another trip with them.

I had a most wonderful time on my 4 day bike voyage of the Loire Valley. The tour allowed me to amble along the river, through farmland, picturesque villages and via the hills and vineyards of this stunning region of France. It was a visual delight to my eyes. The organisation of the voyage by 'Le Velo Voyageur' team was very efficient which allowed me to relax and enjoy the experience.

We had a gorgeous holiday with velovoyageur. Everything was well organised with a lot of love to detail like the travel documents, the chosen places to stay (lovely family rooms, very tasty and large, breakfasts one was looking forward to). We were very pleased with the quality of the bikes and the equipment, everything was nearly new and we had no problems at all during the trip. Most of the rides were off the main path which left us cycling on our own most of the week which was extremely relaxing and peaceful. The length and difficulty of the daily trips were just perfect for a family with kids. Though some bits were hilly the boys (8 and11) managed well, there was not a day they moaned. We arrived in the new place around 4 pm and after a shower and a little rest we had enough energy to explore the towns and surroundings/cultural sites. The canoe trip was a great change after a few days of cycling though it was harder than we thought. We will definitely plan another holiday with velovoyageur. Thanks for planning such a lovely week!

I am a Korean. I am very short in English but also I don’t nearly know in French. But there was not any problem in my trip. After this 4-days trip, I traveled the other place for more long days Paris, Strasburg etc. But velo-voyage was the best. I heard in Africa,“To raising a child, need hole town people’s help.” I felt that all the person in Loire help me for my successful traveling. All the people who I met in the road were kind and having beautiful smile. (If you want to know the most beautiful French’s smile, then go to Le Grand Monarque hotel in Azay-le-Rideau.) I will never forget the beautiful landscape, beautiful castle and beautiful town with various flowers in Loire valley. But perhaps I will remember the beautiful person for a long time more than the magical scenery. I thank God and velo-travel performers for giving me this beautiful present.

Our family of four (children aged 7 & 9) just finished a week of cycling in the Loire Valley from Blois to Amboise courtesy of Le Velo Voyageur. Each day we rode 35-45km on safe, relatively flat trails and bike paths. The distances were just perfect and the scenery was beautiful. We had absolutely no complaints from the kids and we were always pleasantly surprised at the end of each day to discover which beautiful hotel had been chosen for our stay. The accommodations were carefully selected - the kids often had their own room or a bunk bed, and there were always great restaurant options nearby. Each day was broken up with an adventure for the family - a donkey ride through the forest, a visit to a chocolate factory, or a tour of a local castle (always with some kind of treasure hunt component to keep the kids engaged). We were very happy with the equipment and clear directions provided, including a list of recommended restaurants with approximate price ranges. We were initially planning to request a trailer or tandem bike for our 7 year old daughter, but in the end she wanted to ride her own bike and she had no trouble keeping up with the family and covering the required distances. The cycling paths are very well marked and protected from traffic. In rare instances where we rode in traffic, we never felt that our young kids were in any danger - the drivers were always very courteous. We would not hesitate to recommend this company to others looking for a unique family holiday. What a wonderful way to see the French countryside! When we compared notes with other cycling groups that we encountered, we felt that we had found the best value for our money by choosing Le Velo Voyageur. The day that we returned our bikes, we spent some time on their website dreaming about which cycling holiday we would try for our next vacation...

This was a wonderful trip with great scenery and gastronomy! Every detail was taken care of for us and we enjoyed ourselves immensely! We were really lucky with the weather and had picnic lunches every day. The bikes and gear were better than we have had with other tour companies in Europe. We ended up visiting more castles than we thought we would as they were so beautiful and interesting. We enjoyed the chocolate factory and the Vouvray wine cave tours! So much fun!

We had a great trip with le Velo Voyageurs. It was well organised and left us little to do but enjoy the ride. We had a 4 day trip from Tours to Saumur, including one day in a canoe. The riding was easy and the canoe trip a real change from the cycling. Would recommend this trip to anyone. The pace was easy, so we had plenty of time to spend together. Brilliant accommodation in Tours, Azay le Rdeau and Montsoreau. Brought back great memories of the trip.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience cycling the 4 day escape between Tours and Saumur, September 16 to 21. Thunderstorm forecasts prevented the canoe day, but that didn't dampen our enthusiasm. The bikes were great, including the computer, the panniers, both front and back, and the rain covers for rain. The hotels were delightful and so were the meals. I'd highly recommend cycling with Velo Voyageur. I particularly loved that the cycling days were reasonably short so that we could relax, tour castles, and just soak up the Loire Valley ambience. I'm so happy we chose you for our cycling experience! We have cycled with other companies and we think yours is the best so far! Thank you again! My only regret is that we never did get to meet you!

It was awesome! The landscape, the ride, the châteaux, the cities, everything! We had a blast. We were super tired, after riding our bikes for hours and then strolling around trying to see as much as we could, but we were so happy. We fell in love with France. Everyone was incredibly nice and helpful. We came back physically exhausted but mentally rested, nothing that a good two nights sleep couldn't fix. We cannot wait to be back. The bikes were very comfortable, the accommodations were great, we didn't have any problem with our luggage. Merci beaucoup!

Our family trip from Tours to Angers proved to be an ideal vacation for the four of us. The bike routes took us through beautiful country, and the easy pace allowed us to stop at Chateaux and wineries, churches and gardens. We admired the many lovely small villages and appreciated the bike paths that avoided busy roads. We selected the "B" grade accommodations, and these were good quality, quiet and welcoming, and several were truly outstanding. We appreciated being able to stay two nights in several towns, because it gave us more time to explore. The distances to bike each day were just about right, and all the information provided was helpful. This trip exceeded our expectations.

Phantastic bike trip along the beautiful rivers of Loire, Beuvron, Cher, Indre et Vienne. You can choose between long or short routes. You have a lot of time to visit big and small castles, interesting regional museums, beautiful villages.

Well done, Vélo Voyageur. Our trip was nothing but a nice ride through a beautiful piece of France. Good bikes, Bike Locks, bike monitor and bags were good to find. Also the helmets. The Chateaux de la Loire is a great region for combining nice biking rides and cultural visits. We have enjoyed very much. We are very satisfied for the organization. Everything went fine. The indications and information in the documentation were very complete and useful. The accommodation according to our expectations and in general very well received. Wir haben unser Ziel immer erreicht, die Steigungen waren auch für mich "Ältere"(fahre zu Hause nur selten und wenn, dann nur bei schönem Wetter) zu schaffen. Wir haben jeden Tag ein Schloss besichtigt - am besten hat uns auf unserer Route "Villandry" gefallen. Wir fanden es auch schön, so allein zu reisen und Ziele, Pausen etc. selbst bestimmen zu können. Extremely satisfied! We felt like we had a unique and authentic experience in a part of France that not as many tourists get to see. We felt the daily distances were well-planned, the accommodations were very nice, and the included activities (wine tasting, etc.) were real highlights of the trip. Good friends, great food, and the best wine we've had anywhere. The biking was excellent exercise but at no point overwhelming, there is plenty of time to go at your own pace and see the countryside in a way that would simply not be possible otherwise.
