An authentic cycle tour around Amboise
Cycle around Amboise and discover castles and vineyards
Amboise's medieval streets are the perfect backdrop for a weekend cycling getaway. You can choose from a range of excursions, depending on your interests.
Two loop itineraries take you to two not-to-be-missed castles on the Loire bike route, Chenonceau and its famous gallery crossing the Cher, or Chaumont-sur-Loire, renowned for its International Garden Festival. Alternatively, head for Tours, via the Montlouis wine route or the Vouvray wine route. Once in Tours, you can return to Amboise by putting your bikes on the regional train. Finally, make the most of Amboise's lively atmosphere, visit the Clos Lucé, where Leonardo da Vinci spent his last days, and admire the Gothic architecture of the Château d'Amboise.
