Mediterranean Route – EuroVelo 8

Discover the French part of the EuroVelo, which stretches along the Mediterranean from Italy to the Spanish border. This cycling route is as attractive for its wild landscapes as it is for its cultural visits. Cycle along the Mediterranean beaches, the immaculate salt marshes of the Camargue or the ramparts of Aigues-Mortes. Pass through towns with a well-known cultural heritage, such as Arles, Montpellier, Béziers and Narbonne. The route is rich in cycle paths, allowing you to slow down and observe the pink flamingos, bulls, horses and other characteristic birds of the Camargue. From Sète, cycle on the towpaths of the Canal du Midi, or continue along the coast. The gastronomic aspect is not to be outdone. There's nothing like a seafood platter on the seafront, or richly flavored Provencal dishes. As you can see, this region is ideal if you want to combine sea, nature and culture while cycling!
