ViaRhôna / Rhone Cycle Route – EuroVelo 17

The Rhone Cycle Route follows the river from Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean. Also known as ViaRhôna, the 815 km-long cycling itinerary is partly on safe greenways and smaller roads. Starting in Geneva, you pedal along the foothills of the Alps to reach the hillsides of the côtes-du-rhône, lavender fields and olive groves. Cycle through Lyon, Vienne, Montélimar, Avignon, Arles, Sète and the many charming villages along the way. The Rhône has been an axis of trade and cultural exchange for over 2,000 years, and its banks bear witness to this. We invite you to cycle the most pleasant sections of the route, discovering the Alpine valleys on itineraries accessible to all.
