Pedal between land and sea to discover Scotland's landscapes by bike
You start from Perth, gateway to the Highlands and former capital of Scotland. From here, you can stop off at one of Scotland's most beautiful castles, Huntingtower Castle, before setting off again for Dunkeld. Follow the small divided roads, with the River Tay on one side and green valleys full of sheep on the other. You continue your journey to Pitlochry, a popular resort for Scots who like to come here for the breathtaking peace and quiet offered by the forest and expansive valleys. On your second day in the town, you'll visit Blair Castle and one of the oldest whisky distilleries nearby. The next day, you'll transfer to the coastal town of Dundee. The landscape changes, and you're now closer to the sea, in the Fife region. With your hair blowing in the wind, cross the bridge over the River Tay and pedal on to St Andrews. Don't miss a detour to the old university with its Gothic architecture, and visit the ruins of the castle before heading back to Perth.
