Depending on your arrival time, take time to stroll through the narrow streets of Bari's old town. Here, you can catch a glimpse of the daily life of the inhabitants, which takes place in the open air. Don't miss a visit to the Basilica di San Nicola, a must-see pilgrimage site for Orthodox Christians, as it contains the relics of St. Nicholas.

You drive along small country roads through olive groves. As you pass through each town, you'll discover magnificent Romanesque churches in Bitonto, Terlizzi and Ruvo di Puglia, before reaching Trani, nicknamed the “Pearl of Puglia”, with its magnificent cathedral that seems to stand on the azure waters of the Adriatic Sea.
Your itinerary takes you along the back roads of the hinterland. You'll pass through the small town of Andria, where you'll want to stop for a taste of the local cheese, burrata, a mozzarella with a melting center. In the distance, you can see the famous Castel del Monte, the only octagonal medieval castle in the world, which is on the Unesco list of World Heritage sites.

Continue on to Matera, the breathtaking troglodyte town and pride of the Basilicata.

You drive through the countryside towards Gioia del Colle, the birthplace of mozarella, and the town of Noci. At the end of the day, you reach another remarkable place, the town of Alberobello and its trulli, the typical cone-shaped dwellings so emblematic of the region.
