Your trip begins in Dinant, the city where Adolphe Sax, the inventor of the musical instrument, was born. Enjoy the most charming places of the Ardennes such as Rochefort, Marche-en-Famenne or Durbuy and cross picturesque landscapes. You cycle on small countryside roads, on large cycle paths or along the Meuse river between Huy and Dinant, passing by Namur, the capital of Wallonia.
All ingredients are combined in this loop bike tour to enjoy a great adventure! Eager for culture? Explore the citadels of Namur and Dinant, the castel of Modave or the fort of Huy. Keen to relax in the nature? The natural area of Leffe and Famenne regions or the peaceful banks of the Meuse river await you! Not to mention the Belgian gastronomy with its frites, its waffles, its chocolate or all types of beers: all your senses will be awake.

Dinant is your starting point and you will find plenty of activities to enjoy there. Take the time to admire the colourful houses located on the banks of the Meuse river, explore its captivating cave or visit the citadel.
Before riding, pay attention to the numerous well-decorated saxophones all around Dinant, where the inventor Adolphe Sax was born.

You cycle slightly upwards along the natural reserve of Leffe and reach Ciney, a well-known city for its beer.
Cycle over picturesque roads and cross small charming hamlets and a well-preserved nature before reaching Rochefort, your stop for the night. Enjoy a delicious Trappist beer in the beautiful historical setting with the castle of the counts or the war memorial of general Lafayette.

It is time to join Marche-en-Famenne and its well-preserved and lively city center! You then follow the RAVeL, the network of Belgian cycle paths, and arrive in Hotton where you will be amazed by the underground world of caves.
Cycle at your own pace on the country roads of the Ardennes and discover charming hamlets such as Ny. Durbuy, "the smallest city of the world" awaits you for a gourmet getaway.

"Tout ce qui est petit est mignon": This French proverb means "everything small is beautiful" and you can check it by yourself with the visit of Durbuy. Ready for a small stroll into the topiary garden or into the labyrinth of Barvaux? Unless you prefer to wander into the lively city-center? You will be spoilt for choice!
Ride through the countryside and reach Modave with its castle and its French garden, perfect for a relaxing time.
You will then follow a magnificient cycle path up to Huy where you will meet again the Meuse river. Do not hesitate to visit the impressive fort reconverted into a remembrance place of WWII, explore the animal park of Mont Mosan or find out about the wall of Huy, famous for being part of "La Flèche wallonne" professional cycling race.

Today’s trip is mostly along the Meuse river where you will enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the surroundings. Make a stop in Andenne, a city well-known for its carnaval of bears and do not miss the visit of the Scladina caves and the museum of Ceramics. Discover the folklore and the culinary traditions of the region such as "matoufet" or "peket", a beverage made from juniper.
You continue your trip onto the cycle path along the Meuse and reach Namur, the capital of Wallonia, at the confluence with the Sambre and the Meuse rivers.

After an unavoidable stop at the Vauban Citadel, the symbol of the city of Namur, you follow the Meuse river and will experience a lot of nice surprises. In Wépion, learn about the history of the strawberry, a fruit cherished by both adults and children.
As you cycle along the river, you will be amazed by the magnifient landscapes. Look up to the sky and see some hand-gliders jumping from the point of view of "Seven Meuses". On your way, do not miss the water garden of Annevoie with a mix of French, English and Italian styles!
In Anhée, you can follow a side trip leading you to the abbey of Maredsous and the one of Madret and enjoy the well-known beers and cheeses of the region. You cycle back to Dinant and finish this adventure.
If you have taken the luggage transport option, your belongings will be dropped off at the La Merveilleuse hotel before 6 p.m.
If you do not have an extra night at the end of your stay, please drop off your rental bikes at the same hotel before 6 p.m. Don't forget to leave all the accessories (bags, locks, repair kit, etc.). Any missing accessories will be charged.

To get to the departure point
By plane: Flights to Brussels-Zaventem and then the train Dinant. You can also fly to Charleroi and then take the train (transfer in Namur, €, 1h20), a bus (€, 2h00) or a taxi (€€€, 45 min.).

To return to the starting point
You arrive back at the starting point (Dinant) on your bicycle. If you have chosen the luggage transfer option, please take in consideration that your luggage will be delivered at the drop off point at 4 p.m. at the earliest. Take this in account when planning your holiday.
