Your bike tour takes you from Bayeux to the Overlord Museum and the American Cemetery along small country roads through villages with half-timbered houses and pastures with grazing cattle. The visit of the cemetery is really striking. You continue along the coast to the pretty little fishing port of Port-en-Bessin. Take a stroll around the port before heading back to Bayeux.

Bike through the Normandy countryside until you reach the port of Arromanches. You’ll hear stories and be filled with emotion as you visit the D-Day museum and watch a movie showing the 100 days of the landing. The bike path back to Bayeux takes you past bomb craters, gun posts and bunkers. Arriving in Bayeux, take time to visit the Bayeux Tapestry. The tapestry stretches 291 feet by 20 inches and depicts the Norman invasion of England in the 11th century.

You leave Bayeux on small countryroads in the typical bocage Normandy hinterland saluting cows, sheep and horses. You cross quaint, small villages like Creuilly where you can admire the park of the castle overlooking the valley. You arrive at the memorial of Caen, which is definitely worth a long stop to discover this excellent museum.

From Caen you leave leisurely the city along the canal. You cross the canal on Pegasus Bridge where the British army won a major victory in 1944 and continue along the Orne river until the delta and the sea. Observation platforms allow you to stop at leisure to observe the fauna and the flora. You continue along the coast well-known thanks to its beauty and called the "flowered coast" (côte fleurie) along the large sandy beaches until the small seaside town of Cabourg.

You leave Cabourg to reach the small seaside town of Houlgate and Villiers-sur-Mer. You cross a green space where you may be able to observe storks before joining Deauville. Stroll on the famous boardwalk, look at a horse race and stop at the casino before continuing along the coast to the charming port of Honfleur.

You leave the pretty harbor of Honfleur for the quaint hinterland and its typical Norman countrside with its valleys, many cows and small flowered half-timbered farms. You reach the charming village of Pont l’Evêque, famous for its cheese before returning to Deauville and Trouville.

By plane: flight to Caen and then train to Bayeux.

To get back to the starting point
Regional trains take you back to your starting point from Trouville-Deauville if you wish (from 1h30 to 2h30 depending on the time schedules). There are several trains per day but we advise you to take your ticket in advance.
