Starting in Orange in the middle of the Provence you will discover the old city of Orange with its Roman theater, its small shaded streets before cycling through the lavender fields and olive groves in the idyllic Provencal countryside. After crossing charming little villages like Suze-la-Rousse you arrive at Grignan. Do not miss the beautiful walled town of Grignan. A little further take the time to stroll in Vaison-la-Romaine amongst the Roman ruins as well as in the small town of Nyons. The area is well-known for its oil mills and lavender distilleries.
Charming villages surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and lavender mark out your way. You also cross many world famous wineries as Seguret, Sablet or Gigondas.

As soon as you leave Orange, you drive on a plain dotted with vineyards with the Mont Ventoux in the background. From village to village, you cross the garrigue before reaching the University of Wine located in the castle of Suze-la-Rousse.

You leave Suze-la-Rousse and continue through beautiful stretches of lavender and numerous olive trees. On the way, you can make a small detour (+7kms) to visit Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux, a town famous for its truffles and its magnificent cathedral. The arrival in Grignan offers a superb view on the medieval village overhung by the castle of the Marquise de Sévigné.

Drive through the countryside to the charming village of Taullignan where the Silk Museum is located. You leave Taullignan in the direction of the Enclave des Papes. The vineyards accompany you to Venterol, a magnificent village overlooking the Eygues valley. You then descend gently through the olive trees to Nyons, famous for its Provencal know-how (olive oil, lavender, soaps, scourtins, etc.).

At the exit of Nyons, take advantage of the beautiful view on the old village at the passage of the river Eygues. You will go up through the fields of olive trees to enjoy a magnificent panorama on the valley. After the village of Mirabel aux Baronnies, the circuit winds through the vineyards surrounded by mountains to Vaison la Romaine. After a visit of the Roman vestiges, continue to the village of Séguret, classified "most beautiful villages of France".

You can either enjoy your day by the pool going for long walks or go through the Dentelles de Montmirail to the heights of these rocky wonders to Beaume-de-Venise, capital of Muscat and the vineyards of Gigondas.

You drive along a very intriguing rock formation called "Dentelles de Montmirail" and enjoy the ancestral knowledge of the winegrowers who work the renowned terroirs of Sablet or Gigondas. You will cross the plain of Orange again before reaching the historic city center.
The longer option takes you to the salt pond of Courthézon. A little further on, Chateauneuf-du-Pape is waiting for you! Don't miss the visit of the ruins and the paved streets of the village. You will then reach Orange and its mythical arenas.
