Program

Day 01
Constance – Schaffhausen
  • 50 km

You drive along the lower lake, leaving Konstanz and passing through small fishing villages on the Swiss side of the lower lake. You arrive in Stein am Rhein, with its frescoed facades. Continue on to Schaffhausen, overlooked by Fort Munot.

 
Day 02
Schaffhausen – Zurich

The day begins with a visit to the Rhine Falls, Europe's largest waterfall. A boat takes you under the water. You'll then cycle through the Glatt valley to the cosmopolitan city of Zurich.

You can shorten the day's stage by taking a train (not included) from “Rümlang Station”.

Day 03
Zurich – Lachen

Drive along the northern shore of Lake Zurich, often referred to as the “Gold Coast”. In the distance, you can see the medieval Rapperswil Castle. Finally, cross the lake via a dike and follow the shoreline to the small town of Lachen.

Day 04
Lachen-Vaduz
  • 60 km

Following the Linth Canal, which links Lake Zurich to Lake Walenstadt, you reach Weesen. A ferry will take you to Walenstadt. Admire the peaks of the Churfirsten, the mountain range of the Pre-Alps. After a few kilometers, you reach the valley of the Alpine Rhine, which you will follow to the Principality of Liechtenstein, where you will spend the night.

Day 05
Vaduz-St.Gall
  • 60 km

Today's itinerary takes in imposing castles such as Schattenburg, in the heart of the medieval town of Feldkirch, which houses a fine collection of historic weapons. A cogwheel train will then take you from Altstatten Stadt station to Gais in Appenzell. On the way to St. Gallen, you'll cycle past alpine pastures and discover the famous Appenzell cheese.

Day 06
St-Gall – Constance
  • 45 km

You descend go back to Lake Constance, until you reach Arbon. You follow the shore of Lake Constance, passing through small Swiss villages and apple orchards. There are numerous bathing spots on the day's stage back to Constance.

Information

Start of journey

As the first day is a non-biking day, you arrive at your own convenience, depending on your route. Please note that rooms are usually available by mid-afternoon, depending on your accommodation.

Bikes are available from the day of your arrival until 7 p.m. at the bike workshop, or you can pick them up before your first day of cycling during the workshop’s opening hours.

On request, bikes can be delivered to your first accommodation.

Getting to the starting point

  • By plane: fly to Zurich, then take the train to Constance (1h)
  • By train: TGV from Paris Gare de l’Est to Karlsruhe, then take a train to Constance, or TGV Lyria from Paris Gare de Lyon to Zurich, then take a train to Constance. Journey times vary from 5h30 to 7h. To plan your trip, visit https://www.thetrainline.com/fr

Parking 

If you’re coming by car, you can park your vehicle in the fenced-in bike workshop parking lot (to be booked when reserving your trip), see fares tab. Alternatively, there are free parking spaces in the streets around the bike workshop.The location and contact details of the parking lot will be indicated in your travel documents.
