Guarantees and Insurance
Going on a trip is an important project, and above all a budget that no one wants to lose through an accident or unforeseen event.
To protect you during your trip, Le Vélo voyageur offers two types of insurance when you place your order: Travel insurance and Bike insurance.
Travel insurance
The two packages we offer (Multi-risk and Cancellation) cover you against any risks before and during your trip, so you’re protected against the unexpected (illness, accident, cancellation…). So you can book your vacation with peace of mind and protect your budget.
Please note that our travel insurance is only available if your residency is located in the European Union, Switzerland, Liechtenstein or Norway. If this is not the case, we advise you to look into travel insurance in your country.
Cancellation insurance
Cancellation insurance product is intended to provide you a guarantee in case of cancellation of your trip, following the occurrence of guaranteed event. The subscription must be made on the day of the registration of the trip.
Multi-risk insurance (Security)
Multi-risk travel insurance product is tailored to provide immediate assistance in the event of certain travel emergencies, for trips less than 60 consecutive days. The subscription must be done at the same time as the booking.
Bike insurance
Bicycle insurance is offered to protect the equipment rented during your trip. As the bikes and accessories provided on our trips are your responsibility for the duration of your trip, you can protect yourself against theft or breakage.
Please check that you do not already benefit from this coverage.
Legal framework for the travel agency business
The travel agency business is subject to a financial guarantee requirement, in order to protect all customers in the event of the agency’s financial failure. All travel operators must take out a financial guarantee.
Le Vélo voyageur is financially guaranteed by the APST (Association Professionnelle de Solidarité du Tourisme), recognized by all professional and public institutions and approved by the Minister of Tourism and the Minister of the Economy and Finance, as a collective guarantee organization mentioned in II of article L.211-18 of the French Tourism Code.
To operate as a travel operator in France, it is compulsory to register with the Registre des Opérateurs de Voyage et Séjours managed by Atout France (IM094110013).
Registration confirms that the operator in question meets the financial guarantee and professional liability requirements laid down in the French Tourism Code. All these conditions are verified by Atout France’s registration commission. Registration is renewable every three years.
